oldboyracer
I haven't ridden this bike much since I built it out of two others so it was time for a run . A phone call to my ridding buddy who is great at organising rides and it was done , the destination was glow worm cave just outside lithgow , about 200 km from here with about 60 km of dirt . The day dawned windy and cold and on the hour ride to his place my thoughts were of heated hand grips and winter gloves . Up the mountains we went getting colder and colder a fuel stop saw me putting wet weathers over my leathers to try to get warm . Further up and it was really cold , all I wanted to do was stop at every coffee shop but I wasn't leading and he wasn't stopping , maybe he would break down outside a nice warm coffee shop but no, bloody vfr's are reliable . Finally we stopped just outside lithgow in a nice warm coffee shop with a gas fire which we sat next to . 30 minutes later and off we went to find the turn off which meant the start of the dirt After an hour of riding thru a tunnel , railway cuttings and some great scenery we arrived at the car park The walk to the cave is about 2 km , when you get to the entrance you turn your torch on pointed to the ground , once you are about 75 metres in turn the torch off and the walls and ceiling are covered with pin points of light from the worms . Heading out the other side it's like you have stepped into another world , it comes out into a grotto filled with tree ferns reminding me of Jurassic park Leaving the car park and thinking what a great ride my thoughts turned to , where next . VFR4Lee
Nice pics. I wouldn't be riding into that tunnel without checking it out first. Which, I guess you must have.
