curtis
Looking for a medium/large bag to mount on the pillion. Ive seen a few online, Firstgear, etc. Wondering if anyone uses one, and what brand. 20-30L would be great. I have a gen5. Any pics would be great. Thanks in advance! Member Contributer Africord Posted April 24, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted April 24, 2015 I'm Mr. Cheap, in the photo to the left, I used an Eastern Mountain Sports duffel held on with a bungee net. To keep things dry, I use a Seattle Sports Hydro Liner. Unfortunately, that product is out of production. The whole set up was about $60 USD. OntarioHawk
I mentioned this over on VFRWorld. I've used Kriega tail packs to great success. I have a US-10 and a US-20 that can be used independently, or stacked together. One US-20 can serve as a mounting base for two US-10 bags for 40 litres of total storage. Totally waterproof, built like a dry bag you would use while paddling/hiking. Been through a few pretty heavy rainstorms with them and never had a problem with anything getting wet. I can stuff them and throw them on the bike if you would like to see some pics on my 5th gen. Check out this thread for some pics: http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/76059-kriega-tailpacks/

Member Contributer ggathagan Posted April 27, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted April 27, 2015 I've had decent luck with Roadgear's Sport tail bag and Jumbo Sport Tail bagThey're not the best thing out there, but they're decent and not that expensive. They frequently send email with promo codes. A recent one was 25% off with code: RMN25J Don't know if that's still valid or not. 20L - $90http://roadgear.com/sport-tail-p-75.html40L - $100http://roadgear.com/jumbo-sport-tail-p-73.htmlUnfortunately, they don't include the rain cover for that priceSport tail bag Rain cover$14http://roadgear.com/rain-cover-tank-sport-tail-p-59.htmlJumbo Sport tail bag Rain cover$15http://roadgear.com/rain-cover-jumbo-tail-p-62.html
Member Contributer FJ12Ryder Posted April 27, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted April 27, 2015 I've got an old RKA tail bag that I've had for probably decades. Works good, but doesn't look so great anymore.

Member Contributer ChasingNolan Posted April 29, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted April 29, 2015 I like my Cortech sport tail bag. Probably not as large as you want but it has worked well for me.
RazorWing
I like my Cortech sport tail bag. Probably not as large as you want but it has worked well for me. +1 on the Cortech Sport. I have the 2.0 that expands too. If I can get the main problems with my bike fixed this afternoon I will mount it on and post some pictures for you. RazorWing
That's the Cortech 2.0 24l found here http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/cortech-super-20-tail-bag Packed for TMAC in a few days, it has all my clothes and everything. The expansion zips up when not needed and works great as an alternate to a tank bag (thus far I haven't liked any tank bags, but I am short).
