Member Contributer wrestler Posted March 21, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted March 21, 2015 Hey People, I got inspired by our friend Cogswell in So. Cal and his covered bridge tour. I looked up the covered bridges in GA, Al,SC,NC and drew a route. Anybody want to come with me in late April or late May? The whole circuit is about 781 miles. Probably take two days. Plans not at all firm yet. I wanted to include a map but they say I can't in this area.
Member Contributer 34468Randy Posted March 21, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted March 21, 2015 That would be a great run Wayne. I think it is a little out of my reach just now though.
curtis
Extra caution is suggested. Older covered bridges often have irregular surfaces which can be difficult to see because of darkness/shade from the cover. Commonly there are 2 wooden tracks for autos ride on, elevated several inches. If you dont land on one when entering, you may be in for a rough crossing, and the last thing you want to try is to climb up from the side. A friend of mine fell on his BMW(in georgia) while crossing and is now paralyzed.
