Member Contributer DFerrell Posted February 22, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted February 22, 2015 Anybody ever remove this thing with out tearing it up? I love the thing so I'd like to keep it.
L8Apex
on mine, if I lift the cap a bit, then I can hold it and the base solidly together, and I just work it left and right as I lift up on it. It's a little snug, but not hard to take out at all. Careful not to tweak the cap though.
Member Contributer Cogswell Posted February 22, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted February 22, 2015 I haven't had to remove mine, tho when I installed it I thought if I did I would use a length of small wooden dowel up through the stem from beneath and tap it out. Tamworth
As L8 said, or unscrew if you can grip it without damage. it is a threaded socket with a plastic sheath around it. Can't drive it from below without destroying the connectors. The other option is to leave it in, they are only $20.
Member Contributer JZH Posted February 23, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted February 23, 2015 I don't think they make them anymore, though. A friend wanted one and I checked the Powerlet site for him... Wiremybike has/had some, but $60! Ciao,
