Member Contributer enuf Posted September 19, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted September 19, 2013 ON A Colardo ride, devolved a extreme sliping clutch, clutch lever has no free play. Bled slave cylinder, regained free play, clutch worked like it should. Have to bled slave cylinder each time motor is stopped. Any thoughts? Member Contributer gll429 Posted September 19, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted September 19, 2013 DIRT! you need to remove the slave from the sprocket cover. pump it far enough to spray some brake cleaner around the piston and scrub that sucker clean with a tooth brush. or if its really nasty. some #0000 super fine steal wool. then press piston all the way in... reinstall ... pump clutch to normal.. there may be a chance your 'return hole" at the top ..in the master cylinder is clogged.. but pressing in the slave should break up and dirt in that tiny hole.. The Phantom
Agree with Greg, the slave piston is not fully returning in the bore.
