Member Contributer mk2davis Posted November 6, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted November 6, 2012 I found a decent looking 700 not too far away from me that will need at least a carb cleaning. Are the carbs easy to get to on the '86? And I know I've read the earlier VFR's really want the "oil mod", is that an issue for an '86? Thanks for your feedback. Veefer800Canuck
No oiling nor cam issues with the '86. Total redesign of the motor from the 1983-1985 VF750. It was the start of the Cam Gear Drive for the roadgoing VFR series.
Member Contributer YoshiHNS Posted November 6, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted November 6, 2012 Carbs are no easier or harder to get to and work on than any other VFR. So long as it's in good nick and your SO is comfy on it, go for it.
Member Contributer mk2davis Posted November 6, 2012 Author Member Contributer Share Posted November 6, 2012 Good to know. Now if the seller will get back to me, we'll play a little "Let's Make a Deal".
