Guest
ok ill check the header thanks, i have never put any additives in the fuel but the mileage that is on i would not be suprised that there might be some carbon in it. should seafoam surfice? if it had hydrulic lifters that is as close as i can describe the sound, like a collapsed lifter in a old chev or something.not to descriminate against chevy or anything
Monk
I use Seafoam but that's more for cleaning and getting water out.......... MMO is for lubing the upper part of the engine(if put in the gas). http://www.marvelmysteryoil.com/index.php/site/faq/
Member Contributer Terry Posted August 30, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted August 30, 2012 My VFR700's and 750 both ticked at idle, which was down to the gear drive mechanism on the camshafts, which has split gears that are sprung to take up any slack. At idle there is just enough slack to make a bit of a ticking sound. It does no harm apparently (just adds character).
