MagnetMan
My 4th gen had around 5000 miles on it when it was hit. I replaced the gauge cluster with one indicating around 55000 miles, not realizing how easy it is to swap the speedo cluster alone in the gauges. I recorded the mileage on both odometers and have since put about two thousand miles on it. Realizing my mistake (I need to correct the mileage before state inspection), I should add 2k miles to the old odometer. I disassembled the gauge a far as I could (removing the hard circuit board on the back of the speedo unit) but advancing it 2k miles by turning the gear wheel with my finger will probably take years and lots of band aids. Is there an easier way? There are four pins the stick out the bottom of the odometer drive unit, can I apply a voltage to two of these and turn the odo? Anyone ever try this?
