Member Contributer Snafu Posted March 25, 2008 Member Contributer Share Posted March 25, 2008 This is what new brake fluid should look like. This is what dirty fluid will look like. So it was time to flush the system and I replaced the fluild with ATE.
Darth Bling
Cool, I had to look up the ATE stuff, I've never heard of it. I just read a website that says people like to alternate between the blue and amber versions of the ATE fluid which makes easy to tell when you got the old stuff out of the system during a flush. I also read that the blue version is not DOT legal in Florida for some reason. Weird.
AB-Oz
I've seen ATE used by some friends on a Porsche forum, Some said the blue stains the lines and reservoir or something? Not a problem here as our reservoirs are metal rather than clear plastic... at least the fronts are.
Member Contributer Snafu Posted March 25, 2008 Author Member Contributer Share Posted March 25, 2008 It is easier to go back and forth between the 2 colors. I'll let you know if it stains the plastic.
