Member Contributer MadFrog Posted August 3, 2007 Member Contributer Share Posted August 3, 2007 Suddenly, the left hand turn signals started blinking at varying rates the other day. It'll blink fast, then normally, then fast again, and on and on. The bulbs are ok on all 4 corners, and the right hand side blinks normally. I'm guessing the relay is bad? Can anyone confirm/deny this? I found a replacement on bikebandit for over $40 - kind steep, but if that's what it takes... TIA.
KanadianKen
sounds like the flasher unit is on the way out. Not sure what kind of flasher it is - but if its a thermal unit - I'd say its about ready to stop working.
wera803
I'd guess you have a bad connection on the left side somewhere. I think if the flasher unit was going out, both sides would act funny (usually the same flasher unit is used for both right and left). Play around with the wires, bulbs, etc. while the turn signal is turned on and see if you can find the bad connection first.
VFR4Lee
Fast blink usually means a dead bulb. Intermittent, maybe a loose connection. :goofy:
Guest
I know this has absolutley no relevance to your problem, but my Honda moped from 22 yrs ago would vary its horn frequency in time with the signals. Eeeeeeeee, uuuuuuuuhhhhh, eeeeeeee, uuuuuuhhhhh.
