Member Contributer fallzboater Posted December 9, 2006 Member Contributer Share Posted December 9, 2006 Check out this tire changing video with 2x4 bead-breaker. The dude makes it look really easy. I've got tires ready to put on, but haven't tried it myself, yet. Tire Change
Member Contributer FotoMoto Posted December 9, 2006 Member Contributer Share Posted December 9, 2006 Great how to for those who've never done it. Pledge: what can't it do? LOL. If you don't have an unfinished garage or no place at all to attach that beadbreaker, the cheap harbor freight item bolted to a free wooden pallet works great, is portable, and the pallet acts like the 2x4's to protect the discs. Just like in the vid, I find track based tires are very easy to install. Harder street compound/touring type tires can be bastards sometimes. Fireplug
Since he showed how effective Pledge is at reducing friction, if you use it, it would be wise to avoid spraying the stuff over the rotors. Pressing your hands Pledge-covered on the rotors might not be too good either. Both were done in the video. Brake cleaner should clean the rotors right up.
