Av8r
Hi. Does anyone know what the thread size is of the cartridge rod that the fork cap screws onto? I want to make up a tool to make it easier to do a fork service rather than buy one. Thanks.
Member Contributer Terry Posted December 14, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted December 14, 2023 Definitely 10mm and a reasonably fine thread (1.0mm?). I'm not at home otherwise I'd measure it properly, sorry. I have a 10mm x 60?mm coarse thread bolt, and I can screw that into the cartridge rod lock nut gently, which gives me something to grab hold of. Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted December 14, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted December 14, 2023 I have 3 sets of forks apart right now in the shop, I can try and verify threads tonite if you would like.
Av8r
That would be great especially if you could confirm the thread pitch. Thank you.
