Urbanengineer
Hello all, do the 2002-2009 VFRs have the same brake calipers? I found a listing for a full rebuild kit and can’t decide if it’s a good deal, because it’s usually $20 more. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222202660690 Please advise. I cant tell if this one will fit 2002-2005? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F263062960869 I know it’s not an OEM part but Honda doesn’t even sell it. Please help.
Urbanengineer
Seller said he would increase the price of the $50 one tonight if it didn’t sell. That’s why I say urgent.

Urbanengineer
1. https://www.ebay.com/itm/02-09-HONDA-VFR800R-VTEC-INTERCEPTOR-BRAKECRAFT-FRONT-BRAKE-CALIPER-REBUILD-KIT/321730933675?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 2. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-2005-HONDA-VFR800-INTERCEPTOR-VFR-800-FRONT-BRAKE-CALIPER-NEW-SEAL-KIT/222202660690?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Those are the same part number with different prices :/. So it seems he could be right. I'm trying to understand why this wont fit: No rush anymore - that price is too high to be honest ($50 for some bleeders and some rubber, really? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Interceptor-800-2006-2009-Front-Brake-Caliper-Rebuild-Kit-VFR800/263062960869?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
VFRpwr
Last time I ordered front pads they had different part numbers between 2002-2005 then 2006-2008. Different pads very likely mean different castings. Can't say if Honda kept the pistons (thereby the seals, wipers) the same throughout the model generation though. WRONG! The updated 6th Gen ('06-on) has revised calipers which take different brake pads. Dunno about rebuild kits. Those MAY very well be the same. Urbanengineer
The new pads do look very different. Everyone that sells caliper rebuild kits sell them specifically 02-05 and 06-09. So it’s just not worth the risk. I’ll be buying the K&L rebuild kits for each as the previous owner was lazy and pushed pistons back in with brake crud on the pistons. I bought the linked brake MC rebuild kit and was sent a front left caliper rebuild kit. That is why I decided to just go K&L. Thank you everyone.
