And it must be contagious....... Thank you Keny!!! Went to look at 2 today, 1st one was grotty beyond belief so I didnot even make an offer The other one was the other side of NL so all in all a 300 mile day today. 44k km's/27.5K miles From the year I started working, 1986 Came with a set of new Bridgestone's, purrs like a small lion.... The OEM indicators are gone unfortunately.... 😞 Early rise tomorow for a 7AM start of a mc tour with some friends; they will be surprised no doubt! Early start to avoid the mass of HD and HD clones clogging up the dikes so no iron butt off the cuff but a good spin nevertheless.

Hi all, I'm getting to that time of the year, when I get antsy and want to change something on the Viffer... I've had it go down in the trailer, en route to Alabama last February, and haven't gotten around to mending the cracked fairings... so I was thinking, while I'm at it - why not Switch out the forks, breaks etc. for something much better.. I've heard that the 200-2001 RC51 front clip is a good candidate, but has anyone actually done it? Does it require any completely custom fabricated pieces? What to look out for etc.. My forks are fine, but I was just curious if there were other upgrades on the suspension side of things. I was also curious if there are advantages and options to looking at a upgrade/more modern rear shock? Would a late 90's CBRR or early 00's VTR RC51 rear shocks fit? Any advantages? I'm more prone to spirited touring, than track, as far as the riding style goes.. Anyone out there have any first hand experience? much appreciated!

Guys, I have a 4th gen VFR with 25k that I've had for 5 years now and I've done lots of upgrades to it (attached). I love the thing and can't imagine selling it. But I've always lusted the RC51 SP2 and finally in a place where I can possibly afford one that has not been abused. It's actually in MINT condition, first owner, factory everything down to tail light, including dealer brochures. Except for the Jardine full system and a PC3 (attached). But I'm on the fence because all the white noise in my head. it's a 14 year old heavy bike with outdated machinery compared to newer stuff. Why am I spending so much for something this old when the 2017 CBR is supposed to kill everything. also the fact that I probably won't get much back for this bike in terms of resale value since it's a small market etc etc. Then on the other hand I am a VFR owner and there's a plethora of reasons for owning something so unique, beautifully engineered with a rich racing heritage. So here's your chance to donate your 2¢.

Rc51 Top Bridge On Cbr929 Steering Stem? Will It Work?
Rush2112 posted a question in Modification Questions
Hi, There is soooooo much info on here relating to fork swaps and I have read most, but not all. I'm looking for confirmation that a 2004 RC51 top bridge will work with a CBR929 lower triple and steering stem. I know the offsets and fork tube sizes are right, it is the steering stem mounting through the upper bridge that concerns me. I'm building a 5th gen VFR track bike and the 929 steering stem and lower triple came today and there is a lot of room where the stem extends through RC51 upper triple. I have to order all the hardware (bearings, nuts, seals, etc.) none of that came with the used parts. I don't want to order more parts and find out it won't work and I have to back track. I'm appealing to the collective wisdom of the VFRD Borg to help me answer this before I move forward. Please let me know if you have insight or answer to this question. Thanks! -

Can you tell from the smile whether he is about to go on his first ride on an RC51 or is just getting back?-

Before I set off to re-invent the wheel, has anyone boldly gone before? The winter is long, but I already see a few challenges, that -with the help of VFRD- may be overcome! Right, the piece................. The front section is a bit matt/doesnot show the weave clearly anymore, but I assume can be polished I guess? and now the fun starts... So far I can not push the fender all the way in, snug to the forks. For starters, the OEM bolt holes are in the way Put a bit of masking tape to located where to make holes (if I think the set up can be achieved, no point in wasting a good fender) Then there are the lower mounting tabs that are too long (duh, they are designed for an USD...), they are now getting stuck between the rotors The front sections would need some triming to clear the rotors as well and last but not least, I'd need to dril holes for the other mounting points so I would need to source 2 of these: So....................... doable or am I just pissing in the wind???
