Hey guys, just picked up a 2004 Vtec model in red with 55,000kms on it. Been riding a weapon of supermoto for the last 2 years and finally decided to get something a little more refined for longer rides. Since purchasing her, I've done all the usual mods as listed - Staintune Pipes - Delkovic Headers - Pair, snorkel and flapper mods - K&N High flow air filter - Techspec Snakeskin tank grips - Power commander 3 usb - Some nice sticky Pirelli Diablo 3s - Stedi HID headlights - Clear indicator lenses with switchback LED indicator globes - Fender eliminator The bike is running so nice and smooth now and boy does it sound good. Time to find a nice set of OEM colour matched panniers and put down some serious saddle time!

Just after an opinion from those who bought or owned Honda VFR in Australia, what they think of new 2017 model and if its good price point to buy at $14799 ride away. I got a quote for $14,800 ride away. Is this best possible ? pls share your thoughts ps : I may buy this bike new or other similar bike with pillion carrying capacity for short trips if price is reasonable, (prefer new bike and considering keeping for long period) FURTHER UPDATE (11th July) : able to get better quote of $14,400 ride away. I am in Victoria and in Adelaide one of the dealer offering at $14K, which is not an option for me but just saying. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Honda promo : From the 1st July until the 30th September, Honda’s ‘On Tour’ sale offers excellent savings across a range of Honda tourers. Get out on the open road in style on a VFR800F for $14,999 ride away; an extrodinary deal considering this model shares an engine configuration with the RC213V MotoGP machine. Those after something with an upright riding postion and sharp styling will enjoy the VFR800X, the ideal touring companion available for $14,999 ride away during the sale. Hello all. I wasn't sure where exactly to put this story, I had already completed an introduction post (Linky-poo) but I haven't been around or active much (soooo much lurking) as I have had my hands tied up with the below: After doing some investigation and various bits and pieces I had everything I needed to be able to work on the bike. Mechanically very little was needed, in the end it was some various seals/gaskets, full fluid flushes, front brake, starter motor and carbie rebuilds, some fine tuning and a tiny bit of re-wiring. The painting held me back for a few months as I was waiting for the right weather - I even built myself a boot to do it in. Luckily, at the last moment I was able to secure a booth through a friend and used that, instead. I have never really done a lot of panel repair before, and especially not to this level, and I had never really painted before. I've got no doubt in my mind that the experienced spray painters will be able to recognize my (many?) errors along the way, but for my first go I'm pretty happy with the result. All up, the bike, parts, paint, tools, materials, registration, roadworthy and insurance have cost me A$3,500 - to put that into context, a reasonable condition second hand one in Aus (where you would still need to pay rego, roadworthy, etc) would cost around 4,000 - 5,000 - so I'm extremely please to have the old gilr up and running, now looking as good as she is mechanically. Plus, I got to rescue this amazing bike!

Hi Guys and Gals, I know we are all a bunch of conscientious law-abiding citizens so I thought I would chuck up the link and summary PDF of the Australian Design Rules (ADR) in relation to motorcycles for my fellow Aussie compatriots. The summary provides a basic run down of the do's & don'ts and provides a list of the relevant ADR's to look at if further detail is required to be researched. Information is power after all and its good to know where you stand should the boys in blue or regulatory inspector start asking questions about your ride. https://infrastructure.gov.au/roads/motor/design/adr_online.aspx NCOP8_Section_LL_Motor-Cycles_and_3WheelVehicles_01Jan2011_v2.pdf

Situation; - "The Long Ride" is an organised motorcycle ride, converging on different destinations every year, in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Doesn't matter where you start from; the destination, and the journey, is key. This year, The Long Ride is finishing in Margaret River in Western Australia (WA). Great wine country. If you live in Perth, WA, it's not so long. If you live on the East Coast, like most of us, it's a looooong ride. Mission; - Ride from Sale VIC to Margaret River WA and back in 3 weeks, in order to raise funds for men's prostate cancer, and generally get up to no good. Execution; - Approx 8 days each way. - 3 days in and around Margaret River. - 08 - 26 Apr. - Organised (ish) on the way over. - More flexible routes & timings on the way back. Admin & Logistics; - 2009 VFR 800. - Camping the whole way. - Separate posts to come on bike and gear setup. - Am travelling with a couple of mates; Simon (Wee-Strom), Fluffy (HD Electra-Glide), Jack (Indian Scout). Of the couple hundred riders involved, there is sure to be a couple of VFRs..... Command and Signal; - Will worry about that later. 8000km (+) for both ways. Should be a pretty awesome trip. More to follow!!
