  1. Her helmet is a medium... the jacket is an extra small. She is 7.5 years old... which I think is a bit young. So I plan to take her on the super back country GA roads at no more than 35-40 MPH. I figure you gotta start somewhere. She is SOOO excited
  2. Added more black this weekend.... check out the footpegs! I also powdercoated the heatshield on the right. Also, I just bought a swingarm and swingarm mount to get powdercoated black (for those of you who thought I would never do it.) That will leave the radiators, forks, and frame. All but the forks are planned to be blacked out. I really like the footpegs... subtle as they are. The swingarm was easy to find, the mount was not... and I don't even want to know how much fun it will be to change the mount and swingarm. Isn't the engine mounted to the swingarm mount? will it fall out when I take it off Oh, yeah... my daughter FINALLY fits in a jacket... so I picked up a jacket and helmet for her this weekend. Tomorrow we start "Dad's safety class" for her. Maybe if she understands the ramifications of being on a bike, we can go for a ride around the backroads at super low speed this weekend. Check out her pink gear
  3. Here we go.... I got Butch's hugger on and added a license tag frame... I just though it cleaned up the back end a bit. Man does that Rivcyko brand hugger look sweet! Don't you all wish you had one? You can, just PM Rivcyko! More on the way, Butch By the way... do you like the tank protector I got for you? Your gauges shipped to Scott today
  4. Not bad so far... watching the pull like a hawk. Cool weather is on the way and I'll be adding dual-stars and an outlet for my Gerbing stuff... we'll see what happens then. I hold pretty steady at about 13.4 with what I have now. @mechdziner714 - it's wireless... but I think I won't be using it if I can re-wire the visualizer from Marc Parnes @Baileyrock - SHHHHHH!!!!!! Kaitlin LOVES the wings and desperately wants me to get one!!! I told her dad is about 30 years away from that bike. @Bad Boy - I was thinking the same thing... just doing a quick and dirty until my buddy gets the bracket I designed to me... then I want to move the ant. up under the cowl. Also holding off on the second laser receiver until I put the FSD tail on.
  5. glad I don't live in australia My VFR didn't come with a slow setting
  6. OK, so it seems to work. It falsed right where all the stores with auto doors were... and went off when the sign that tells you your speed clocked me I have not tried the in helmet alert thing... but will need to as I never look at the speedo and would have missed the alarm going off if I wasn't looking for it. I also have that visual alert and am thinking about modding it to work with the whistler. The volt meter and temp gauge work well (although I will need to move the probe for the temp.) So far, so good, just need to get the alerts in my face
  7. So I got a ticket the other day riding around with my buddy. I though "man, I usually use my Escort detector... but was too lazy today." I wanted to buy a lesser model and take it apart, mounting most of it under the fairing... then I found the Whistler Cruisader. Crutchfield has them for $199 shipped (free) with the free in-helmet display right now.... sweet! So I nabbed one and mounted it tonight. I ended up grafting the mount they sent to my existing mount for my GPS. A buddy at Delta is making me a better bracket, but this will do for now. All I really ended up doing is drilling out a couple of new holes in the top ball-mount on the RAM mount. Check it out... Next up is to make a better mount than the velcro they gave me for the front receiver. :P I also have a rear laser receiver to mount, but am changing the back end of the bike out soon, so I'll wait for that. This is going to look sweet once I do the gauges in blue! I also mounted my triple tree cover I bought from the UK... looks cool, but was not cheap Performance report to follow soon!
  8. Normally, I would say yes, but I don't want the shiny black... I want the powder black on the 07 tri-color... so I will probably buy a set and have my stockers powdercoated to match. Thanks for the offer, though.
  9. The tank grips are from tech-spec and I love them. I highly reccomend the snakeskin... it wears better and is much thicker. The tail pack is an EXL from motodirectusa.com, but they have been out of stock forever. I email them every 3 months asking when they will get more. They always say 4 to 6 weeks, but it's been almost a year and still nothing. Nevertheless, if you can get one, they are awesome and great for commuting to work as they have built in backpack straps and the pack zips off the base. They have a small model with the link above, but I haven't tried it cause my laptop won't fit.
  10. LOL, no (although I have always had a soft spot for redheads.) The house and the mower just worked out that way. I tried to match the truck to the bike, though
  11. Thanks for the kind words Hi, my name is house (wirelesswill) and I have not done a mod in 1 week... scratch that, I did two tonight <_< I got my passenger pegs and uppipe shield done in powder coat, so I had to mount them. They had been sitting for almost 24 hours, a new record for me!!! I also put my Scorpion alarm on the new bike. Funny, but the perimeter senson seems to be more sensitive on this bike. Also, for the first time, I compared the color of my new truck with the color on the new bike... they are really close (especially in the right ligh) but do not match exactly. Oh well, it will look good enough when I am towing it to Fall meet!!! And yes, here are more pics (you knew that was coming.) I gotta run... the mod-aholics meeting starts soon.
  12. Awesome!!! Thanks bro You wouldn't already have that in a Garmin file would you If not, no big deal, I can plot it... just thought I would ask.
  13. You're right... you almost never get finished. But to some degree, I gotta make it my own. My debt is almost gone (including this bike) so I get to play - as long as the wife gets to shop I created that mess myself
  14. Hey now! :goofy: Looking good! So how many miles do you have on it? Oh and get some twisty practice, jason and i are headed that way labor day weekend! About 900 as of today... can't wait till you guys get here! Where is that turn off on hwy 20 we took that day... wanna try that road again. Already in progress... Bob is hard at work on the other parts. I've been following your various mishaps for some time now.... and would love to help out!!! However distance, work, and family will probably be three obstacles that keep that from happening. Still, if there is anything I can do to help, let me know! Just sent JoeW a message (now that he's back in business!)
  15. I know, I know... you guys are sick and tired of seeing me powder coat stuff, but I can't help it. I need powder-coating rehab or something. I got the can covers and end caps today, so I had to put them on. The heat shield for the up pipe is in progress along with the passenger pegs (I have spares of both and sent them off a couple of days ago.) You're thinking: "house, we've seen this before" - Yeah, but not on a red 07!!! "could you not wait till all the parts came in?" - no, I have modding sickness "can't you come up with a new mod?" - working on that, but have to get this bike to where my 06 was (before it was flattened) "where's the supercharger, like toro?" - way over my head... he's a hero of mine  "don't you have anything better to do?" - now that kwr8728 is at school, nobody else will trash their bike so I can work on it... so this will have to do Anyway... here are the pics Perhaps this is a cry for help.... naahhhh!
  16. Yup.. georgia just started that too  WTF? Ummm, I think me. I am way too gone to classify me with the rest of you normal folks So, should I change my screenname to house?
  17. Got my fender eliminator from Ken today as well... awesome workmanship. Better quality than the CW kit!!! Mine did not come with nuts, so I went to Home Depot and got 4mm-7 nuts to mount the light with. I also picked up some 1/2 x 5/16 12 7 Rubber stoppers to plug the holes where the factory bolts used to be. These worked great. I had to trim the bottoms of the ones next to the tailight so they would not hang down too much. I also trimmed the one where I routed the power wire for the license light to allow for the cord. This should keep most of the water out from under the rear seat. The parts numbers are pictured below if you need them...
  18. Bridgestone Battleaxes, I think. They came stock on my 06 and 07. They will last... got 8 K on the 06 and was still a month or so away from the wear bars. However, they can be a bit slick... I was pratcing floating the rear in corners using the rear break with almost no effort. If you just want to tour, they might fit the bill. Dude, we have about 30...all but 2 are always open. I went about 7 or 8 away from the door and parked (didn't want cages in the pic.)
  19. Still concussed I think <_< They said it would be up to a year before my brain is all the way normal It's all in how you look at the bike :P
  20. The funny thing is, I had never heard of that before. I really don't watch too much TV, so when they started calling me house, I had to tivo and episode and check it out. The guys at work were all like "hey house, what's up?" My dumb a$$ just started back at them with a blank stare cause I had no idea what they were talking about.
  21. Well this is one you won't see every day The folks at work have been calling me House for months (was using a cane for a couple of months cause I hate crutches.) So I grabbed my handicap sticker today and slapped it on the mirror and took a snap for you guys. Can you tell my dorky butt is gald to be back on a bike? Enjoy...
  22. Man those look sweet!!! been thinking about doing that as well, that is once I get a new bike :P I hope they serve you well and last as long as the bike! Let us know if there are further benefits / drawbacks to having them set up the way you do.
  23. Man, those tires look square???
  24. Yeah, turning the lower lights into ram air vents has crossed my mind. :goofy: Would the ram air vents qualify as a NACA duct? :D My daughter can make you some... click here to see 'em!
