  1. ohlarikid, why don't you test ride another member's VFR? Then you will see whether this is an issue with your VFR or whether it is typical of the model.
  2. I noticed the same thing when I first got my 6th Gen. IMO, this isn't so much engine braking per se as it is the lousy stock fueling at small throttle openings. It was either "on the gas" or it was "off the gas" - annoying as hell. It felt like I was chopping the throttle all the time. A more careful right wrist is one solution, but this problem disappeared after I installed a PCIII and paid for a dynotune.
  3. Great idea. Hmmm . . more bling? How about a dry clutch . . . ?
  4. I paid a suspension outfit to set me up from the get-go. AND I got a better-than-internet deal on my Ohlins to boot! Same with the dynotuner I hired to work on the PCIII mapping. Sometimes it pays to pay the specialist at the outset. Glad it worked out eventually.
  5. I use the NAPA Gold filter and lick the oil off the headers. Well, not the last part . . .
  6. Storm, the overall design, build, and remote preload aduster and dampening controls on an Ohlins make all the difference. Other aftermarket options like Penske are good too. It's always possible to save money with a cheapo compromise, but a fully adjustable top-quality suspension is one of the most important features of a motorcycle. I completely disagree in the strongest terms with Mr. Daugherty's subjective opinion that a top-quality suspension reveals its benefits only at the track. But K-Mart is popular for a reason, and it isn't because K-Mart equals top quality . . . .
  7. This thread has convinced me that I was very smart to buy an Ohlins specifically designed for my motorcycle.
  8. THX, Spud. Anyone adapt Dzus fasterners to his VFR? (Apologies to the OP'er for a bit of a threadjack) .
  9. Zip TiesRollin Great tip! Thanks.
  10. Does anyone have a quickie-alternative to those crappy black push-pins that attach the lowers? I HATE those things!
  11. Thank you. This kind of "how to" post is always interesting.

OMG! That bike is so clean! It looks just like my bike, although mine is usually a bit scruffier and has Leo Vince carbon cans. Nice shot!

    Teaser!

RWB makes me feel all tingly. It would look really sweet with that black frame. Guess I'll have to buy one and do it. Wanna buy mine? Really strong engine and its all there . . . well, here in Alaska, anyway. Pefect tank -NOS purchased last fall. No, wait! Maybe I'll do it myself!

    Very, very nice concept.
  19. "There's only one thing wrong with the Craft Viffer - It's ALIVE!" Seriously, glad you are on the mend. I like the stitches on the bike!
