A late fall ride in '06. Yes, it was cold. Started the ride at about 45F and the peak (9000 feet) it was 32F. This was before I had real MC boots and before sPOTO had real pipes. : ) Thats me on the right and sPOTO (gary) on the left.© ©vfdiscussion.com

Reach the ground? I could barely reach the foot pegs! circa 1987 My dad got all six of us kids on this bike once.© ©vfdiscussion.com

are you talking about the guard on the up pipe? Or attached to the peg? I bought my bike with Micron exhaust already on it and it didn't have the heat sheild on the up pipe. 17k miles later still no problems with that. And I do like the looks of the pipe that way. If you're talking about the little wing shaped guard on your footpeg? ... well, ya need that buddy. For the twisties! :fing02:

Maybe I'm a little biased but I think VFRD is the perfect group to produce such a thing. I think we have a serious amount of collective experience in the riding safe and still having fun department. My contribution to the list of rules would be: 1. Don't do anything stupid. :goofy: J/K

very nice! Thats about what I ought to shoot for but my opener sits so nicely in the clear map pocket next to the mp3 player and has a 1" square button. So I haven't been motivated to hide it... but I will soon. Gotta switch to a smaller tank bag so that I can shoot the twisties with some actual form. This mod would actually help improve my riding form! Okay I just found my motivation. :idea3:

LOL "disaster area" .... I knew someone else around here had to be a 'hitchhiker'.

JUST IN case I didn't say it before.... that sign was a big piece of my child hood. I grew up about 20 miles west of Zion and my family had a bit of property about 10 miles NE of Zion. That sign was what we would see just after sunset about every Saturday... headed home (west) after building fence or makin' dutch oven potatos or some such. I know that road very well, but I'd be nervous to take it at much of a pace on two wheels. Its very technical and you've got rock walls, sheer drop offs, deer and amazingly stupid tourists. Other than that its much fun!

Met SAFE-T, sPOTO and, I'm sorry Erik, was it stinkbate? Anyway, we all had a good dinner at the RedRock Cafe in SLC tonight and then I got to sit on FrankenViffer and fire it up! I hopefully will meet with these guys tomorrow at the AMA races.... if not.... Hey guys nice to meet you! Its so cool to finally meet some other VFR owners/enthusiasts. cheers andy
