  1. The mounting bracket was made by a fellow RC51 owner who did a limited run of them. The fan slightly covers the end tank of the rad, but not much. It had to, to clear the frame spar.
  2. 10 years of being parked with ethanol fuel in the tank. The bike ran PERFECTLY before I took the tank off, started immediately, revved perfectly, idles perfectly, etc. I had ridden it home like 10km when I bought it and it pulled like a freight train. I removed rhe FPR and blew out the entire fuel rail and HP supply hose with compressed air. NO RUST came out. None. I also blew the FPR clean, and there was only a speck or two of soft debris in there. OE fuel filter must have worked! Guess which of the two fuel pumps I'm putting back in??
  3. That looks like a 929/954 upper triple the CBR1000 item would have lugs for the factory steering damper I think
  4. Hoverbike has legs!!! Now to clean the chain, change the front sprocket (-1 tooth), install the speedohealer, and clean the dreadedrusty fuel tank.
  5. Holy shit, this is still dragging on? Wow, it better be worth it in the end!
  6. I don't like the flushmounts. We're invisible to cars as-is!!!
  7. Wheel bearings have been cleaned and repacked with fresh grease. RC51 heads over on FB were all like: Just buy new bearings man! And I was like: Naw, I'm good, thanks. $7 worth of grease and a little time and they're mint! With only 4,000 miles, they'd better be! New tires Friday!!!
  8. I never had to modify the frame? The BLS blocks were dead easy to fit. I guess it depends on how adventurous you are! One good mod deserves another, I always say!!!
  9. Clutch cover mod would be tough. Stock cover is magnesium, so can't be modded by seb. Id have to buy an aftermarket racing cover in aluminum, and have seb mod that. Would be a $500 touch by the time I'm done. Ouch! Stock on the left, aftermarket aluminum on the right, just for reference.

  11. Haha, I've seen this one before. Dang Chinese bodywork sellers. I havent gotten a single Yuan out of them yet!
  12. The rescue project is ramping up, as time allows. instead of mowing my lawn, I tore the RC apart. Wheels off, to be powdercoated gold, and forks off for new seals. The gold wheels pic is just for reference, that's the shade I'm shooting for.
  13. Can only comment on Larry's blocks. Have had mine on for 10 years now and now and they're flawless. A little finangling needed for the sidestand and the brake lever, but since then, zero issues.
  14. Thanks! i spent all winter of 2009 obsessing over the paint scheme!
