  1. Hi, I joined in April, and was kindly helped with a tech question about my leaking fuel rail regulator, but never got round to an intro, so here goes! I live in Reading UK, and this is my first VFR, although have been riding various bikes since 1977. My other bikes are currently a ZZR1400, ZZR1100, ZRX1100 and GL1100. Very pleased with the Viffer after sorting a long list of problems after purchase. Just fitted Quill cans and a PC V to release the music, which also sorted the standard low rev / part throttle snatchy response. Best mod has been the super comfy Corbin seat 🙂

  2. Top job, made the ghetto lead and cut then programmed in a genuine blank Honda HISS key as a spare. Worked brilliantly! I then tried to programme in a cut non-HISS key with an ID46 chip from eBay glued to it. The chip was advertised as being for Honda HISS. This time the key did not programme in, and the 4 regular blinking HISS light sequence was different, The final blink of the 4 was spaced out from the first 3 flashes. Unsurprisingly this key does not start the bike.....so I threw the chip away and keep it on my keyring to unlock the tank and seat. Any ideas why it didn't work? This is the chip I bought https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1x-Blank-Key-Transponder-ID46-Immobiliser-Chip-For-Honda-Nissan-Peugeot-Citroen/192730750474?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
  3. Thanks Grum, I'll do a proper intro later 👍
  4. Yep....this is it, many thanks! I have a spare rail with regulator attached, so just getting started to replace it, will let you know
  5. Apologies for the dark background....no idea how that happened!
  6. Hoping for some help. Just bought this 2003 VTEC with 30K miles on the clock. After standing for a day or so, when firing it up, it tries to start then hydro locks stopping the starter. Removing the airbox I found fuel pooling in the front right side intake below the throttle butterfly....other intakes are fine and dry. Once fuel is cleared by cranking with that front RHS spark plug removed then re-fitting it, the engine starts fine and runs perfectly. I suspected a leaking fuel injector, so replaced them all with a matched set from a low mileage bike with 10K miles on it. Started perfect, and sounded smoother, BUT when engine stopped, I took airbox lid off and filter out, and can see the same front RHS inlet is again slowly filling with fuel! Can't believe it's two faulty injectors on the same cylinder. Another thought is that maybe the fuel rail return pressure regulator is leaking back into its vacuum tube and somehow finding its way into the throttle body inlet? Anyone had a similar problem before I fit a new fuel rail or regulator? Any help appreciated 🙂
