  1. Just change the oil, and ride the piss out of it. Would not hurt to check the axle nuts/wheel lugs, and change the brake fluid. Maybe the coolant as well. I had some of the hard to get to coolant lines split on mine(PITA)repair.
  2. heres an old vid of mine. sounds the same today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r0X8PcpPxI

This is a 6 speed map. This map has been evolving over the last few weeks. Speed Calibration was done via GPS and gear speeds were set @ 5k rpm. Temps range from 50* to 70* but mostly in the mid 60's. Evevation was from Sea level to 4000 feet. Average around 1500 ft. The trims are now at a max +/-1~3. In mixed riding the MPG are @ 41. Tearing it up in the hill will get as bad as 36 mpg. Straight freeway speeds can get 43 mpg. Most of the map is running 13.2 afr, But at 0~20% throttle in the 4250~6250 RPM range in 5&6 gears the AFR is 13.7.(I tried leaner, but the bike got back the mid range buzz, so 13.7 it is). Y2K with gutted airbox, PiperCross filter, Staintune and no o2/Pair. Enjoy.

As you can see from the pic, the air box has been hacked up pretty good. Using a PiperCross filter, Staintune hi mount, Pair's disabled and o2 sensors disabled. Runs like a batt out of Hell. Enjoy. 6. Does not play well with others!
  7. My link
  8. Something TomTom gives you free but Garmin wants $35. a year for! But this site offers them for $5. or $20. per year and they seem to work better than TT or Garmins stock stuff. Camera POI's main site
  9. The XL 335s is many years ahead of this Nuvi550. In a car, the TT is much much better. If you need routes, waterproof, a big mph display and a few other things, the Garmin is the way to go.
  10. Ya, I like Velcro! Will see how the mount holds up. I'm going to safety wire the cradle to the mount(just in case).
  11. So I got caught in a heavy rain storm and my $100. TomTom got real wet and started flaking out! So I went on the hunt for something waterproof. I found REI had a demo of the Garmin Nuvi 550 for $210. Also bought a Gamin scooter mount for $25. Got the Camera poi's for $5. and it's working well.
  12. $139. and they are a one size fits all.
  13. More coils doesn't necessarily mean stiffer, do you know the actual kg rating of the springs. Curious on your 1200# rear spring, what do you weight? I'm about 220. The springs are rising rate and I dont know if the have a single kg weight, I counted 11 different coil rates.
  14. The Hp springs had 8 more coils, I guess the valving change is the heavy oil.
  15. Mine had no wear marks, as I removed them an cleaned when I did my shock swap. Maybe the chain/wheel was out of alinement or something?
  16. 2o weight oil? what is stock oil height on your 2000 model, and what oil height did hyper recommend? Dont know stock height. HyperPro is 130 mm.
  17. No revalve, just springs and oil. The Penske was from my old gsxr and I had it reworked for the VFR. 1200 lb (21 kg) spring.
  18. I dont know if there the best or not! I do know the bike handles like never before(in a good way). No oversteer, no understeer, no wallowing, no excessive dive under braking, all this and a smooth ride! I was hesitant to use the 20wt oil, but it turns out that the folks at HyperPro did there homework, as the bike handles like a dream. Also got my Penske shock dialed in. I'm ready for some all day twisty tours!
  19. Been waiting on this one to get built, I got it in with little to no pain. Going to install my HyperPro fork springs in the morning.
  20. From the album: Best darn VFR in the whole World!

Did a 300+ mile ride this past Sunday, and took a pic of my true love.

  22. Reminds me of my days in Praha!
  23. I've got 4k on my Angel ST's with no sine of wear. They feel great!
