Member Contributer johnmark101 14 Posted February 15, 2007 Beutiful shot!!! Love the scenery and the bike looks great too. I usually make it out west once a year to snow ski, but would love to ride in the mountains and take some beautiful pictures. Plan on doing that some day. :wheel: Quote Link to comment
superfunkomatic 133 Posted February 15, 2007 excellent photo, and the polished wheels look great. keep me posted on rides again this year, the father's day ride last year was a blast. i think that's in the highwood pass on highway 40, kananaskis country. Quote Link to comment
tinyminds 6 Posted February 15, 2007 I would have to guess chromed wheels, along with frame footpegs, and maybe other stuff I can't see? Looks good. Quote Link to comment
bikeorski4me 0 Posted February 15, 2007 Wow, lot's of responses here....I just logged on and was quite surprised to see my picts featured, don't know how the moderators decide what gallery is going to be featured but certainly appreciate the comments. For all you looky lou's, this picture was taken in early October near the end of Highway 66 SW of Bragg Creek, Alberta in the beautiful foothills of the Alberta Rockies. This is a short but great ride that requires a turnaround, fortunately or unfortunately depending on your perspective with a great stopping spot in Bragg Creek where the riders tend to congregate...all types as is the Canadian way :wheel: To answer some of the questions, this is a pure polish job with the only chrome coming from the factory. I would love to take credit for the work but did hire a professional to do the actual polishing, I did take the wheels, fairings, rearsets, et al off so that he could do the work but had no hand in the final outcome. To get to this point the wheels were stripped with some kind of chemical which dictates new wheel bearings (only a few bucks) and regular maintenance with an aluminum polish or something like Flitz chased with a good Wax. I ride about 10-12 kilometers per year and only have to really get after it once, maybe twice per riding season to keep it up so not too bad. After all this, thanks for the comments and ride safe.... bikeorski4me 0 Posted February 16, 2007 (Yeah, but what is that giant thing hanging off the back of the bike? Lol, great pics and very nice bike... ) That's a feature that keeps all the cows*(& off your back when riding this road...I tried a fender eliminator but taco'ed it on this very road about a month after getting it, then another VFRD member BOYDQTI got nailed to the tune of $670.00 for his, after that I just never put it back on. If you close your left eye, hold up your thumb and squint with your right you barely notice it. Quote Link to comment
Member Contributer alwaysaware 32 Posted July 30, 2008 Sweet  looking bike. The polished aluminum set off that red. I have been wanting to do the same to my 08 VFR. Quote Link to comment
