Boodysaspie Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I'm trying to route a new pair of throttle cables. The manual shows that the cables go in front of the RHS fork, under the ignition lock and then behind the LHS fork, but there's nothing after that. My cables foul the steering and are crushed when I apply left lock. That can't be right ... I've searched for previous threads but haven't found anything. Can someone please hire a pro TV studio, strip down the left of the their bike, and get Jay Leno to host the demonstration of how this should be done? Alternatively, a brief description with or without pix would be just as welcome 🙂 Quote

I'll assume you have stock handlebars. Pages 1-25 & 1-30 in the 5th Gen service manual, in my paper copy as well as the pdf download here at VFRD, show the routing. From the twist grip they route in front of the right fork tube and the frame (as you note), then inboard of the left fork tube and between the frame and the throttle body. 1 Quote
