Nitrojr Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 I HAVE BEEN REBUILDING MY 83 VF1000F AND GOT IT RUNNING BUT THE FUEL PUMP STARTED LEAKING. I TOOK IT APART AND IT SEAMS TO BE THE DIAPHRAGM. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO REPAIR IT, CAN U GET PARTS FOR THE PUMP? CANT FIND A NEW PUMP. Quote
squirrelman Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 no repair parts available except 'lectricakl contacts. same pump used on many different models from many manufacturers over many years, so see if you can find a used one. you'll be sorry if you get a cheap Chinese copy.😣 Quote
Member Contributer wpbarlow Posted May 17, 2019 Member Contributer Posted May 17, 2019 I might be mistaken, but it's a Mitsubishi item. Try bringing it to a dealer to match. BTW-- these pumps sometimes have notoriously short points life in KTM 950s (damhik lol) and folks in the Orange community usually replace the points with a Mosfet kit from a fellow in Greece called Dr. Bean. Something to keep in mind if the points go bad. Works great: I used them in my 950A, 950SM, and 950SE as well as some friends' bikes. You can also get replacement points from Amazon, but the Bean kit is only a few bucks more and it's essentially a permanent fix. Installation Instructions Dr, Bean Kit in action Quote
