The previous owner said the chain was "newer" so I am looking at a replacement soon. Was thinking of going 520 and changing number of teeth. So is going 1 down up front and 2 up out back too much? I purchased the parts but haven't done the work yet, so I don't have any testimonials to share. p.s. The easiest way to search the VFRD archives is probably to just use Google, but add "site:vfrdiscussion.com" at the end to limit the search to just this site. That's what I do, anyway. The 6th gen dropped a tooth in the front: 16F/43R. You'll want to confirm that, but the distinction would matter if you are reading recommendations from different riders. Recently upgraded chain and sprockets on 5th Gen. Went with stock Honda front sprocket 17 tooth, I like that Honda puts rubber on each side of CS sprocket to reduce vibration. Added two teeth on rear sprocket. Result is much stronger off idle and higher RPM around town. Mostly ride in the canyons, not a commuter. Went with D.I.D. ZVMX 530 chain and Superlite rear sprocket from sprocket center. Pretty sure Sprocket Center added a link or two due to the larger OD of the rear sprocket.
