Jamie D offers a replacement, but spending $335 on a $1k bike is not going to happen.. Soooooooooooooooooo.......... I was thinking............. The rear shock has a valve to put pressure is, a valve that is screwed onto the hose. Take the shock out Detach the valve Turn shock up side down and drain the old (1985, 44,000kms), measuring how much cc comes out Flush with diesel? petrol? Affix a funnel to the tube Pour new (10W?, 15W?) suspension oil with the same volume in the funnel and let Newton do his trick overnight Has anyone done this? Can any benefit be expect from this? Member Contributer RDMcD Posted July 2, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 2, 2015 I did this many years ago on a 1983 CBX 550, and it worked fine. It had 2” steel stem welded to the side of the shock with an air valve threaded to in the end. I had welded an extension to the mount and decided to replace the oil, don't think I flushed it out with anything. It may not drain on its own try to introduce some air through a very small tube.
