Beck Posted September 3, 2014 Share Posted September 3, 2014 First, consider the pipe's condition. Make sure it's not so used up that it already needs a re-packing. Ask the owner if he 's done it already, and when. Otherwise, ask for a price cut if it already needs to be repacked. Always look for dents and dings on the pipe and can. hidden ones can be easy to live with, but ones you can see will most likely bug you, every time you see it. An aluminum can is very susceptible to dents and dings, more so than SS.. Check for cracks and leaks at the welds. Good if you can inspect the system before buying it, but if you can't an honest seller should always disclsoe any wear and damage on the system anyway, so I'd ask him straight out.
