5Th Gen Stock Muffler/silencer Question

I have a question concerning stock 5th gen exhaust, exactly the muffler / silencer.

The -98-99 has a slightly different injection as not a catalytic converter in some sale areas as a cold start level on the handlebar like choke on the older carburetor VFR´s, compare to the -00-01 ones.

What I wounder do they still have the same muffler/silencer? or is it different, and if in what way.

Manly wounder, can a stock muffler/silencer from a -99 be used on a -00 without a problem.

Keny,

I think the stock muffler is the same for all of the 5th gens. The differences are like you mentioned with the cat and also the header pipe diameters are larger on the 98-99 models. But the exit pipe diameter is the same on all four years.

What do you do with the O2 sensors?

The O2's are in the header, not the muffler.

I did use a 98-99 header on my 2001 and used the O2 eliminators though.
