They go into holes in the rear fender. Sorry for the technical language there. Normally the prongs are inserted into rubber grommet type thingies inside the holes, which hold tight and stabilize the piece. My rubber thingies are missing -- just two big holes in the fender. My cowl is rattling. I can't find the rubber pieces on the parts fiche. I don't see them associated with the cowl or the fender. My web site of choice is Powersportspro.com, not that it matters.
