Kikemon
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I want to swap out the well nuts and screws on my '97 for DZUS fasteners and was wondering if anyone else has done this on stock VFR body work (I've seen them mentioned in body work conversion projects but not for stock). If they will work, what length screws does it take? Do the clip-on style nuts work or would I need to rivet the nuts to the fairing?
Member Contributer JETS Posted August 23, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted August 23, 2013 Sure, could be done, but you would need to do the rivet plates and get the correct length Dzus, plus use retainer rings to not drop out the studs. Little gain over the screws in practicality for a lot of fiddling. But aesthetically would be satisfying. I love the aircraft type of stuff. Which well nuts are you referring to? I did this on the race body work upper fairings to windscreen stays on the SV650. There I was able to use clip on plates.
fabio222
Any pics? Dzus fasteners are suprisingly expensive over here actually!
wera803
I think Kurvy Girl has some kits made for OEM plastic. http://www.kurveygirl.com/
