kblackburn
Hi Guy's, I have just replaced the front and rear tyres and front brake disc's. What sequence should you use to ensure the front wheel is installed correctly and centered ? I thought the left fork leg had a step inside, to stop the axle at a set point, but it does not, so should I install the axle, tighten the axle bolt and then the pinch bolts, there is a line around the axle, should that be level with the outside of the fork leg ? kev
V4 Rosso
so should I install the axle, tighten the axle bolt and then the pinch bolts, Yes. After tightening the axle bolt, compress the fork a few times without using the front brake but put e.g. your foot in front of the wheel to keep the bike from rolling forward. Tighten right pinch bolt, repeat fork compression and tighten left pinch bolt. This is to get minimal fork sticktion. Oh, and don't mind the groove in the axle.
