Member Contributer auggius Posted August 27, 2012 Author Member Contributer Share Posted August 27, 2012 Oil and filter changes at 6K miles intervals, tires at 10K miles and chain/sprockets every 25K miles are my only maintenance items. How you get 50,000 miles out of a chain is a mystery to me. I am going to give up chain wax and try WD-40 or equivalent. Hey, it helps to be old and slow! I try to be smooth and don't do wheelies or burnouts either. But that aside, it's great to hear about other 4th gens still running strong out there. Besides, I can't afford to buy anything else anymore after buying a house this year.
Member Contributer auggius Posted October 1, 2012 Author Member Contributer Share Posted October 1, 2012 Update....went for a ride yesterday and finally reached 100K miles! Metric equivalent is 160,934 km but that doesn't have a nice ring to it, eh. Had to pull side of road to snap the pic still.
