Guest JoeBlow
I purchased a set of used hard bags for a 2005 VFR; it came with the mounting brackets but none of the associated hardware (bolts, spacers, etc.). Is my easiest course just to buy a new mounting bracket kit? If so, any suggestions as to where? Thanks in advance
Monk
Maybe someone with a scanner can run off a copy of the parts you need, and buy from a hardware store?????
Guest
I have the parts blowout (thanks to this site) but it includes a number of spacers / plates and such. Was my first inclination as well but most of those parts look to be fairly unique.
Monk
I didn't know the back plate was missing(that must have been the "ETC." Don't guess you could talk to seller?
Member Contributer Cogswell Posted March 1, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted March 1, 2012 The gen 6 install instructions and diagrams with required fasteners are in the files section for download (see link). The bolts are common and should be readily available at any decent hardware store. If you're missing the plate across the back that ties the left and right sides together, that can probably be fabricated fairly easily - someone could trace a pattern and any good metal shop could knock one out for you. http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/files/file/72-vfr-oem-pannier-installation/
