master cylinder/clip-on interference problem

So it seems to be pretty well known that its impossible to rotate the brake lever down very far on the stock 5th gen bars. What are the possible fixes? I'm getting a numb right hand on long rides and I'm pretty sure its my wrist angle. I already have genmar risers. Do heli-bars offer more master cylinder to handle bar clearance? Anyone ever cut a notch in the stock bar? How about a different brake lever?

Good question mate ... I know exactly what you mean (you have to lift your fingers "up and over" the lever before squeezing) ... haven't come up with a satisfactory (read cheap) answer yet but this issue is one of my pet hates about the 5th Gen (actually I think all VFRs are the same) ... the bloody lever sits up too high and it isn't a 'natural' angle for the reach from the bar during braking.
