bsmitty902
What's the deal with switching the stacks around in the air box? Does it work?
Member Contributer kaldek Posted May 20, 2010 Member Contributer Share Posted May 20, 2010 What's the deal with switching the stacks around in the air box? Does it work? This has been done a few times for no benefit. Intake lengths are tuned to provide the best air charge at a given rpm, and Honda put a lot of thought into it. Pretty sure the correct alignment is Short-Tall, Tall-Short. Or by cylinder: 1# Tall 2# Short 3# Short 4# Tall

JES_VFR
I don't remember ever reading about anyone trying all tall or all short stacks, Or even making ones other than stock lengths (heights). Sounds like something that BLS would try if someone asked him enough. Oh well I've got to get back to mocking up another HHO cell installation with my scrap wood blocks. Or by cylinder: 1# Tall 2# Short 3# Short 4# Tall Mine was tall-rear, short-front from the factory. So that would be: 1# Tall 2# Short 3# Tall 4# Short Remember that cylinders are ordered: [Front] #2 #4 #1 #3 [Rear] (I realise you know the order Kaldek, that's for the benefit of any unaware readers). Why somebikes have different stack orders to others is beyond me, but I figure best to leave it the way it came from the factory. So just maintain the order that you bike had to begin with. RustyA
Mine is both short stacks on the front cylinders, and both long stacks on the rear cylinders.
