Member Contributer ki-speed Posted September 26, 2008 Member Contributer Share Posted September 26, 2008 From Dallas, TX we visited the Barber Motorsport Museum (in Birmingham, AL) then we spent 3 days in Franklin, NC, hitting the Gap and other great roads around the area. Then on to OH, IN, IL and back to Indy for the motogp race. Gone 18 days (rode 12 of those days for a total of 4000 miles). When we left (Sat Aug 30th) Hurricane Faye had just fizzled, Gustoff was coming, then Anna or Hanna, then Ike. We lucked out. We only got rained on 1 day for 3 hours and it was a light mist. On the ride back to Dallas from Indy the destruction from Ike was evident throughout IN, IL, MO, AR and OK (big trees down everywhere). We had a blast on the trip.
