Took 160 west to 149 (South Fork) and North on 149 to hwy 50. Stayed in Ridgway. Did the Million Dollar ride down 550 through Ouray, Silverton and to Durango. Then over to Cortex, up to Telluride and back to Ridgway. Road 50 to Gunnison and back. Road 65 from Delta to Mesa. On the way home to Dallas I took 50 east over Monarch Pass (nice) and the took hwy 69 south (nice scenic road) to I-25. Did about 3000 miles round trip. The wife road on the back for 3 day trips for a total of about 750 miles (I don't think I could ride on the back for long). Took the rental car to Moab, UT one day and went to the Arches NP. Had a great time, great roads / scenery and great food (Only ate fast food twice). We like those local Mom / Pop places. Beautiful pics.Is that the longest trip you've done on the VFR? This is my first bike. Bought it new in July 2003 (I was 46 then). Just turned over 51,000 miles. Been to California twice, trip to Big Bend NP last 5 springs, CO twice, Arkansas several times. I do not commute on the bike. Longest trip was 2005 to California, 5500 miles in 15 days. Looking to add a additional bike more for 2-up riding. The VFR is great for me on trips, but for 2 -up it's not very comfortable for her on back.
