Member Contributer PhantomNext Posted August 15, 2006 Member Contributer Share Posted August 15, 2006 What does one have to do to get 5000 - 9500 miles on a tire?I have been riding for 25+ years and with the exception of an enduro, I rarely get more than 3000 miles. My Ducati was lucky to get 1200 miles. Do I need to stop braking? Stop accellerating? Stop leaning over while accellerating? What? Damn it! I want to know the secret! Are these 9500 commuting Miles at 55mph on perfectly paved roads? I traded my VFR in with 4500 miles and the tires still looked great, they were the Bridgestone 020's. VFR4Lee
Just had a good break in run on the first set of Pilot Powers on my VFR. Sweeet! I'm not going back to the D208's. B) Maybe it's the switch from old to new tires, or the new fork oil versus the 1998 fork oil done at the same time, or maybe the loose nut on top the seat was tuned up good today. :goofy: The thing was rockin pretty good. Pilot Powers! :pissed:
Member Contributer jeremy556 Posted August 21, 2006 Member Contributer Share Posted August 21, 2006 Just warmed up a new set of Powers I put on this weekend. Can't wait to use them at Jennings and the VFRD ride. I think I definitely like the profile of the Powers over the M3, felt like I was going to drop the bike in the first few turns this afternoon. I will stick with Powers until a new tire comes out to challenge them again.
