Hello everyone..

I know that the recommended rear tire size for a vfr800 2000 is 180/55 ZR17, but someone gave me a brand new bridgestone battlax BT56R 160/60 ZR17

will this fit on my bike and if yes will it change the bikes performance???...

Thank you very much

bob

Uhhh. too small....but it might actually make your bike handle better (if you get a 4th gen rear rim)!

Tire sizing in most of the newest bikes have been influenced more by bike fashion than engineering. You now have bikes that are way over-tired, like some recent Ducati Monsters with 190's (But the new S4R Testastretta can probably handle it) and silly custom choppers with even bigger tires that look silly when you read thier power outputs.

JMO.

Anyway, you shouldn't use the 160 cause your 5th gen rear rim is too wide.

The 160 is far too small for your bike, it's weight, and the 5.5" wide rear rim.

I'd toss it on EBAY and buy a new tire online from someone like http://www.swmototires.com/ or similar.

A 170/60-17 would be OK, but the 160 is not even close. I wouldn't do it.
