Shogun19
So I’m looking to buy this VF500F and it’s going for $1,300 but it has 38k miles. Is that too much or is it good for the price?

Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted August 1, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted August 1, 2023 38K isn't necessarily a deal breaker on a 86.... but it doesn't help. Why does this bike do something for you? Have you always wanted a classic V4? Is this your first bike? Take your money elsewhere. That's far too much for a very un-original VF500F with that mileage in that condition.

Member Contributer Mohawk Posted August 1, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted August 1, 2023 Well I had 65k miles on my 86 VF500 & it was thrashed hard & never had a problem. The 86 was more reliable than the earlier models. That said I fitted a high pressure oil feed kit to mine at around 30K miles, it tapped of the main oil gallery & replaced the external oil line feed to the cams.
