This is the same manual that is already available here on VFRD. I have been using this so much lately that I went ahead and made it a little more useful for myself. I assumed that some other members might like to have it as well. Combined both files into one. Optimized the file size so that it is only 60 MB. Ran OCR text recognition to enable text searches on the entire book. Rotated pages that had landscape page diagram for ease of viewing. Created bookmarks for each chapter & sub-chapters. I figured this was the least I could do to contribute since I am getting so much help from this forum. -

Annoyingly enough I managed to finally get that Two Brothers Exhaust of my VFR just to find out that with it I managed to pull a part of the manifold with it. I checked it afterwards and it looks like it is rotted right through. While there are new delkevic systems out there I need to count my bucks as I also need to get my front rim fixed, chain sprockets, rubber, and exhaust... *sigh* I like my VFR and can't wait to ride but she sure is putting up a fight. If anyone has a working Manifold Set and wants to get rid of it I would gladly take it :) Thanks Phil

I know there are countless threads about this but I find it overwhelming & I'm too bummed out to read all the info that a search would bring up. So I'm hoping you'll help me. My bikes charging system has gradually been getting weak. I did all the tests yesterday. The DC voltages are all too low but the AC volts and the other stator tests are ok. The yellow stator wires get very hot on both sides of the connector. I replaced the infamous R/R 7 years ago (about 2k miles) with a Honda brand one from the dealer. P/N 316-MBG-305. SH689DA is stamped on it. (Would that be a shunt type?) I also installed a VFRness & replaced the battery then & 4 times over the years since then including 3 months ago. I'm also overwhelmed with all the different types of R/R's & places to buy them. So, which type of R/R should I get & where from? And should I also replace the stator? TIA

Could someone please tell me what I can attach a lowering strap to on the forks of my '98?

Hello all, My '98 VFR's battery is dead and won't start, even though I've been running it constantly over the winter to keep it charged. Here's the whole story: I haven't actually ridden it since the summer, but I've run it probably 6 times since then for about 15 minutes each in hope of keeping the battery charged. (I ran it in Neutral though, I'm thinking now if the alternator runs off of the driveshaft then none of this would have actually charged the battery unless I was in gear). I started it again today, it turned over a bit slower than the last time but started. Did some circles around the parking lot for 20 minutes (in gear of course), shut it off. When I started it again, it barely turned over, a clear sign the battery is just drained and the starter is still getting current when I hit the switch. Why didn't the battery charge? Was it because I ran the engine in neutral? I know the rectifiers on these bikes tend to go bad is that related? Thank you for the help, apologies for my relative lack of knowledge, this is my first bike
