That bike deserves a huge -- WOW! Fantastic job! :fing02:

Kaldek, all done?
Chances are ---
---- not!
lol

Stunning! :fing02:

That's just whacked!

Forks are VFR800 upper tubes, Super Hawk lower tubes, SH rebound adjustors and guts, Traxxion Dynamics valving and mods. Brake calipers are RC51.

Bike stripped. -- I was soooooo tempted to unbolt the frame and tear into the engine. 4 or 5 bolts and the engine would be sitting on the jack.

This shield mod is really born out of consern for my $900 Penske shock. It sits kinda close to the headers. So I heat shield wrapped the headers, and then to try to blead some more heat away, I thought a few holes in the heat sheild may help. I thought it would help the looks of a dull part too.
Dont know if it doest or doesnt work. Anyhoo I dont feel any extra heat at the footpegs at my boots.

The only other VFR I have seen with a Kerker pipe <img src="http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fing02.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":fing02:" border="0" alt="fing02.gif" />
The one up here sounds terrific.
Mine sounds awesome as well, but it is loud. I wish I could find some kind of insert for it to tone it down a bit. -- I do like it a lot. The oval shape hugs the bike and look compact. And carbon fibre is da bomb! I'll never go back to an aluminum or titanium pipe if I dont have too.

It was nice with this setup that I could cram the plate and lite high up on the fender. It made for a nice neat fender chop job.
-
The superhawk stock fender will not fit since the vfr has a wider stance for the forks in the triple trees. So I went thru a lot of trouble to keep the stocker viffer fender. Maybe there is a simpler cheaper solution, but I was looking to keep the bike's stocker look.

RC51 master cylinder with GSXR 1000 Reservoir with hand fabbed bracket to get the thing down and outta my face.(The gixxer res sits lower than the stocker RC51 res and bracket) -- Flat black paint to kill the urine cup look. Nice set up - works very nice.
-
I could have done the classic two line off the front master cylinder. But for some reason, to me, it looks - bandaid-ish. (is that a word?) I wanted neat, neat, clean, clean and neater still to compete with and pass as an OEM look. And neater layouts typically have less issues too. So the 3 line was an obvious choice. It helped with a spot to mount a pressure switch up to the FZ1 maniford too. Easy as a fab job and hits the target. (Yes - I'm a wackjob...)
- (Jeez, that horns gotta go.....)

The whole process involved - taking both sets of bare lower fork legs (VTR/VFR800) to the CMM house. Reference all dimensions from the lower axle centerline, the outer face of the tube center line to the mounting bosses and the fore/aft centerlines of the tubes. Essentially defining - x-y-z of the fender mount bosses of both SH tubes and VFR tubes, left and right. (no guessing here.) Then designing a bracket that works for a conversion from one to the other.

Here somewhat of a photo essay on my saga of my redo of the bike. I really didnt like it as stock but I knew it would be something great when I was done.
