I quit cold turkey for 2 years before that road trip, I think I bought a pack on the second or third day of the trip. Had to force myself to take longer breaks because my legs were cramping up - shortest day was ~290 miles, longest was 785! Really need to quit again, for good this time...

The longer you wait the harder it is; set a date, make a plan. I went 20 years before going cold turkey, not a couple weeks I'd want to live through again.

There are several great sections on 49 and another favorite is running North of Downieville which I did in 06 and 07

That's a great section too, then 89 in to Truckee. Also 88, Carson Pass, off of 49. I rode that a couple of weeks ago, then up 49. It's been years since I went over Carson pass, it's now my favorite.

Next up is a TBR full system with possibly a left side exit.

The license plate? There's a small aluminum plate it bolts to, the Al plate bolts to the two cans.

This was one of the highways in to Death Valley a few years ago. I did Nevada hwy 50 a year ago from west to the east and then a clockwise loop down through the alien highway, area 51 tourist thing, Vegas, Death Valley again. It's a big desolate state!
