I used the shock length adjuster on my Nitron Race unit & had the same issue. I removed the centre stand & fitted a CBR1000 alloy side stand with my own adapter to compensate for the excess lean on side stand & its lighter to boot 😁 I still use the centre stand when removing the rear wheel by slipping it on temporarily then using a piece of wood under it so the rear wheel is off the ground so I can remove it, obviously this only works at home.

Same problem, and I was using a  apiece of wood under the c-stand. I did recently ditch the cstand all together but could also use a slightly longer side-stand.

If it comes to it - 6th gen stator and 6th gen flywheel, from a 2003+ bike will work on your 5th gen.  Get the flywheel on eBay for $50, it's not like they age out

    Don't get a 2002 flywheel and you're fine.

This here. I put a new Honda '03+ stator and used eBay flywheel in my '99 a few months ago. Works great, flywheels are $30-$50.

Nothing has changed as of yet; the certificate is still expired. Some browsers will ignore it after a certain period of time (still will show Not Secure in the address bar) and load the site without prompting.

I'm currently in a holding pattern waiting for contact back.

Happy to lend a hand if needed. Currently IT management, meaning a long time since hands on servers/db, but willing to make calls, review contracts, fundraise or whatever you need.

A redirect would point to any site it could be moved to. I was only thinking of Miguel and his sense of ownership. The information could be moved. It’s better than letting it die. Thank you by the way for stepping up. I hope it works out.

Yes, this, easy enough to set up DNS and redirect to a new domain.

The vfrd domain is registered through August 17th. So we'll just get a cert error after it expires??

The kit comes with fused direct wiring on the battery side.

@vfrcapn: how many miles were on your bike when your original stator plug got that fried?

After 30k miles, mine had no damage, except a tiny bit of yellowing on 1 of the pins:

I was somewhere around 70K miles when that original plug burnt out, second r/r however, original r/r replaced as preventative measure iirc.

  6. I just upgraded to the sh847 and a new 6G stator for my '99, and a lithium battery.

    Stator few months ago:

    Stator connector in '09.

Did the crimp connectors and simply twisted/shrink wrapped the other end, eliminating the Honda connector.

    18 months later:

Respliced and soldered those burnt connections, the spade connectors at the r/r were toasty as shown above so I tried once more with new crimp connectors. About 15 months later:

Finally took those out and soldered everything, no connectors. Ran fine for the last 10-11 years like that until the stator started going.

Lesson learned on those cheap connectors for higher amp circuits.

Here's one a lot of you will appreciate.

I had in the back of my mind a mod I had seen on a Euro or Spanish VFR forum. It was linked here years ago. Someone was taking 6g stator covers and modifying them to add an oil passage. I was trying to locate the info, and Miguel turned me on to looking at the 8g stator cover as Honda had apparently taken some measures to feed more oil to the stator on that model.

Turns out he was right, and I ran with it. My brand new stator now has a fresh oil feed directly from the oil gallery!

My 47,xxxmi stator was still working, but probably close to not, judging by the toasty condition

This is the interior view of the 8g cover

The red arrow indicates a port for a sensor that is unique to the 8g. It's not used on a 6g, so I turned up a plug and welded it in before I coated the cover.

This is the location on the 6g block that needs to be drilled.

You also have to drill a counterbore for the the orifice o-ring which will be installed

    Job done:

Any thought that this could be done for the 5G, adapting the 8G cover? It looks like the 6/8G cover may have an extra dowl?
