  1. Well, ya know Stephane. When I come down I am going to be using your talents, so I'll just cut another piece from the template and we'll pop your dash off, do it up and let it sit over night. Right as rain in the morning. Your call dude. I'll get the Sleeman! I'll start cutting. By the way, thanks to everyone for the comments. Was a little worried at first but like any other mod, it only gets better from here.

  3. Exactly. When applying any decal, vinyl or 3M style product, heat is your friend big time. I just put 3M headlight protectors on yesterday with the same little hair dryer. It doesn't take much. The CF vinyl has a heat activated glue. It gives a 'little' forgivness when initially positioning, but a quick 15 second shot on low and you can actually see it start to suck to the surface and into the contours so nice. Going around the tach circle was the hardest part, as there is only so much you can do before it starts to stress. All in all, I'm happy with it and like I said, don't have to see that little gouge when glancing down at 80k (officer).
  4. I picked up a huge sheet a few years ago from a decal shop that was closing out. I'd be more than happy to cut you a good size piece and ship over to you. I also kept the stencil from the dash and side pieces, except they are for a 6th gen. PM me if you have any interest. Thanks for the comments too.
  5. panel with cr treatment (1).JPG WARNING: the images you are about to see are not real carbon fibre. Trace, do not take offence to these images. I had my friend in England look everywhere possible and to no avail, couldn't find the dash treatment kit that wash shown here some time ago. So, want something I couldn't have, I decided to make my own. Now the whole purpose for this was to deal with the several scratches and gouge from the PO of the bike. Having done some practice work last year (battery and accesory covers on side) and being somewhat happy with the results, this winter I took on the guage panel. I'm happy with it and best of all, I don't have to look at the gouge anymore. Here is the panel shot, showing the major gouge on the left of the tach. panel before.JPG After some plastic repair and tracing out (no pun intended) the pattern, panel with cr treatment.JPG here's how it turned out. panel with cr treatment (3).JPG panel with cr treatment (2).JPG I am still putting things back together. So once we actually get some sun and all her clothes are on, I'll update with another shot. Comments?

  7. Thank you. I'll let you know what I find. Really appreciate the guidance.
  8. This may be too obvious for most, but I need to ask. Once you have installed the 330 ohm resistors, can you remove the opposite plug ends right down to the pipes? I beleive I read once on a lost thread, that you can plug off where the sensors tap into the pipes, before the cat. Is this true? If so, what might one suggest is the best plugging method (if other than just a suitable bolt)?

  12. Spoon, 1.5" clear acrylic. I made about 40 sets for 5th and 6th gen bikes for folks here on the forum. I think it's a nice addition as you can see behind you MUCH better. There's nothing fancy about them. If you can find the acrylic, some longer metric bolts and you have access to a bandsaw and a sander, you too can make them without much trouble. I think even GenMar sells them for about $60 / pair. Are you saying you have some for a 6th Gen (w/o lights)? If so, I'll take a set please. I'll PM you for details. Cheers, didit
  13. I would also be glad to help with any print / layout design work. I have already taken KKKKen's instructions and images and condensed into a handy booklet. Can provide in .pdf or print / cut / staple / send actual copies. Run a full printing busn. out of the house. Build it and they will come (and when them come, if they fall they will be ok :salesman: )
  14. That's a little far for me to ride. Anyone in Western Canada that is confident and willing, I'll be there!
  15. Thanks Ken, I'll go find him and forward a PM. Cheers, didit
  16. Really like the way you explained the install and how it comes together. Can you post a link to Radar or forward contacts as to how I go about getting a set? I've read all the posts here on sliders, installations and coolant bottle mods. I know it needs to be done. A little nervous about the process and would prefer riding to meet someone who's done it, but then again, everyone who's done it was also a little nervous. :idea3: Looking forward to the rest of your thread. Cheers.
