  1. Here are my Delkevics 🙂
  2. I have a Delkevic and love it. I ended up putting the baffles back in as it was too loud! It still sounds deep and when the VTEC kicks in it roars.
  3. Hiya Thanks for those figures, I suspected that my fuel economy was very low. Mine is a low mileage bike, it just clicked over 15,000 kms today. I have been using standard 91 octane fuel, too. I have become addicted to the howl over 7000 rpm and spending too much time in that zone I think! I'll go for an easy cruise somewhere and see what I can achieve. I don't have an owner's book or service manual, but have found the Download section, so will grab what I can. Thanks for your help, Grum, I hope you are doing ok over there in Victoria
  4. When I fill my tank up, on the centre stand, and filled right to the brim , the gauge reads one bar from full. When filled up on the side stand it's 2 bars from full. It started flashing on the last bar today and after riding 30 kms before I filled up, it took, 18 litres to fill, so there was still 4 litres in the tank. It seems to me that the gauge is reading lower than it should. Can it be calibrated? I achieved 265kms for 18 litres, with some pretty spirited riding in that time. I would have hoped to be getting 300kms from a tank, what is my fuel consumption like? At just under 7 litres per 100km it's not much better than my SUV. Sorry about all the questions! Maddie
  5. Thanks so much for this information, as a new VFR devotee that only came with one key I was nervous that I would lose it, and be up for an expensive lesson. I bought a key from EBay, had it cut locally, made up the lead and successfully programmed the new key this weekend. The following YouTube video was also helpful. https://youtu.be/db0ee6u7CjQ I am happy to lend my lead to anyone, I'm in Tauranga, NZ, and can post it, or if anyone just wants a resistor I have a spare. Feeling a lot more relaxed now about the key situation.
  6. Thanks for the welcome, I'm very real, and here are a few pics taken this past weekend just before heading out on a ride with my two sons on their bikes. One rides a CBR600 and the other, a bike mechanic, rides a Ninja 250 that we swapped for 30 kms and it was like riding a toy.
  7. It was a torrential downpour on what started out as a dry ride, totally unexepected, even with cordura "waterproof" gear on I ended up with a wet backside! Also, New Zealand, not Oz 😛
  8. It's clear that I am not missing a part of my bike, thanks for the replies.
  9. Hi, thanks for the reply, I was worried that a piece of the fairing was missing, I'm not one to ride in the rain usually but sometimes you get caught out, and it is winter here in NZ! The exhaust are Delkevic and installed by the previous owner. They have a great low rumble and when the VTEC kicks in they howl. It brings a grin to my face every time 🙂 Some pictures are attached..
  10. Hello, new user here, based in New Zealand with a 2008 VFR800. I haven't had the bike long but I love it. I was caught out in torrential rain the other day, and water poured through the gap between the fairing and base of the windscreen, wetting me and the instruments. I have a phone on a RAM mount that also got saturated 😞 . Has anyone experienced this and can suggest a solution? I imagine blocking it would also deaden wind buffering too. Thanks very much, Maddie
