Sorry to hear that. I guess Honda thought you wouldn't like it?? I mean its a much bigger market. I would love to know their thinking. Although it is a 2011, you didn't get them after 2009 though did you??? I love the blacked out frame etc. -

damn I mustn't have subscribed to this thread... yes it is stock but as triumphtraiter pointed out, red pinstripes but also earlier model wheels......the reason I bought it. absolutely love it!!! I need to take some better pics of it. this one does not do it justice. -
Hi Guys I am looking for a dead (or very cheap) ECU. I have a project in mind and want the case with its connectors. I will be gutting it so I don't care i its faulty but the pins need to be in good condition because I will be using it to house a different ECU and to run in a bike. I am in Australia, Newcastle. I am happy to pay some money for it but of course I don't want to pay top dollar for a working ECU and tragically have to gut it.

Gday boys and Girls (?) New to me 2011 VFR800 from a fastidious owner in Tassie with only 25k on the clock. I've posted here a little bit and already have a deposit on the WiLD headers before I even got it on a transporter last Thursday. I've had some much faster bikes and much slower bike and I gotta say this thing is an impressively balanced machine. Smooth as silk and fast enuff (well maybe needs another 20hp :-)). very nice predictable turn in and holds a stable line at decent lean angles but not too slow to turn in either despite its considerable weight. This one has awesome sounding leo vince slipons and different coloured wheels....I think they look awesome. 🙂 crappy photo though.

Cam regrind got me thinking and being a practical man I like the idea of the VTEC in the sense that you could get the second stage reground but still have low speed drivability. Although the transition may not be very nice. And also the added benefit of keeping the low speed fuel economy. this depends on the head room available with with Cam reprofiling. I have sent an email off to Elgin cams see what they have to say about it. And as with most of the replies I get from these kinds of companies they'll probably tell me it's not worth it and to bugger off. I always seem to find myself going down the path of most resistance. Like fuel injecting my DR 650 as an example .... " why the hell would you do that?" Sent from my ASUS_I01WD using Tapatalk -

yep you are right, I'll probably not go down that road unless I get a bee in my bonnet. I modify stuff just because I can, if it was a calculated thought process I probably wouldn't be riding bikes at all. -

sorry, I'm talking out my ass....I have not ridden one. just looked at the specs. and also the fuel consumption is apparently not great. but like I said , in that genre its one of the best looking bikes! -

challenge accepted! 🙂 150hp is needed to match the 1200 power to weight .... assuming a few pounds of weight loss, so yeah thats a tall order and sounds like supercharger territory, Im sure Ive seen 160hp dyno chart somewhere???? see, I had an aprilia rsv1000 and I spent a lot of time trying to make that thing comfortable. I decided to sell it and now I have a VFR (3 bikes later) For me at least, I like to modify things. best to start with a bike I really like to ride and mod it....it is MUCH more about the journey and having something unique. sure I can get a K1200 or something but there is a bunch of stuff I don't like about that bike that is insurmountable. I don't want JUST a fast bike. I want all the things the VFR has to offer and then I start modifying it to make it mine, make it special and enjoy the journey. Turn up on a R1 , the guys say "ok cool there is an R1, nice bike" . Turn up on a supercharged VF800 with trick and custom bits all over it and they say "damn, that thing is sick!!!". not that I care, its more about knowing that it is something I have created. But that's just me. -

140....I assume that's supercharged. if not then where do I sign! -
you sound like a like minded man! newy here, probably the luckiest place to be ... still filled with idiocy but hey at least i have a new vfr to be grateful for. she arrives today and man, sexy she is. might just ride it for a bit before i start hacking it up [emoji1] Sent from my ASUS_I01WD using Tapatalk

I agree with everything including the suspension mods comments I was just curious because I had never read about it. I do not agree with the comment about losing weight ... lost anymore weight i would literally implode [emoji38]. Probably won't go down the route of doing any serious engine mods But asked simply because of I haven't seen Anything. I plan on installing a rapid bike evo though. Anyway my bike arrives today and there have been waiting 9 months for it!!!! a 2011 With leo vinci's and PC. It had to come from another state so of course with everything that's happened that shall not be mentioned I had a serious waiting marathon ! I swore I wouldn't modify this bike but i find myself spending the evenings looking at big bore kits and carbon fibre wheels... But lightness is king And I will be investing most of my efforts into weight reduction. Down the track a plan on making some carbon bits as well and probably machine some nice bracketry to replace the standard stuff. And before anybody chimes in and tries to tell me to leave well enough alone that's just not in my dna and i modify everything Even if it's just for the sake of it! https://drriders.com/my-dr650-sei-pic-heavy-t22031.html There is a link to my last proper project To give you an idea. [emoji849]. I had an r1150r most recently but I didn't really do much to that , didn't really inspired me. Sent from my ASUS_I01WD using Tapatalk

Anybody at all ever seen a cam regrind done on the VTEC engine? I get that its a little bit more specialized but I have search high and low and not even a mention any where on the interballs. maybe there is not much to be had - ports/tracts all need work to take advantage??

yeah it (vfr1200) might have 170hp but its a bit of a pig. but now I look at it the power to weight is quite a bit higher. always loved the look. -
cool, yeah its 5.5 isn't it? and have you weighed it? is it really 4.5KG? the seller said it was. whats the engine cover I see?
