  1. Hey y'all! I'm interested in learning on how to work on motorcycles but didn't think it would be the best idea to try on my vfr. Was interested in hearing suggestions of cheap ways to get into it. Or, if theres easy jobs I can start on on my 1997 VFR (with pretty straight forward instructions) Let me know of that as well! Thank you
  2. Hello all! i know this a very old post but two weeks ago i bought a 1997 vfr and was curious where everyone is at on theirs; what upgrades everyone has done, what maintenance issues(probably none) just curious where everyone is at now that Im here joining y'all! After all, a lot can change in two years!!
  3. sadly mine does not! the theory on my bike (I'm the 4th owner) the previous owner only used for a weekend track experience, the first was a college kid who never left campus on it, but the third, (which is who i'm assuming maybe removed them), never titled or put a plate on it because he raced it I'm assuming so sadly i guess ill have to wait for eBay to come through!
  4. Would you be ablate include pictures for me? This si my first bike and the previous owner just had water in it because of a track day rule and I need to switch it to coolant asap and honestly have no idea where anything is at! And I definitely don't want to be putting coolant in a place it doesn't belong!
  5. Thanks for the response!! If you have the time could you include pictures of where to drain it and where to insert? Again, this is my first bike so i don't have much knowledge and really don't want to mess it up!
  6. Was wondering where I can get the bars the passenger holds on to, I've seen them on some vfrs but they whereat on mine (got it used its a 1997)
  7. was wondering what everyone suggest for just general maintenance as well as had a few questions too! I have a 1997 vfr and the previous owner had just water instead of coolant and I want to switch it to coolant: 1.) where is the coolant reservoir located? 2.) do I need to drain the water first or can I add coolant to it? what can I add to the gas I read once about something that can keep it from getting gunked up I'm going to be away from the bike awhile, a friend is gonna take care of it and run it a bit but i still just want to be sure! I'm new to this so literally any advice would help! Thanks!!
  8. Hey ya'll! was wondering what motorcycle quotes everyone has heard, after all its a passion more than anything else! drop your original and ones that you've heard as well below!!!
  9. Hey all, first of just wanna say how helpful this forum has been so far! I bought my 1997 vfr750 mainly by trade because honestly, im a broke college student whose supporting himself and has always loved the vfr! I begged and bartered for my bike and was finally able to get it! Now I was curious if anyone had suggestions on where to get decent gear for cheap; like a helmet and jacket with some pads mainly. I've been borrowing a helmet from a buddy but obviously I can't do that for ever... He's gonna want it back... So if you have any suggestions or if you're looking to sell a helmet size medium or a jacket in medium as well let me know! Seriously in desperate need
  10. It was the kill switch! Never would of thought of that! Thank you all! Also was wondering, do you think it was a good first bike for me to get a 1997 vfr 750? A lot of people say I should of gotten something 250 cc but I love the vfr so far! Also anyone had to do a bonded title before? Im going through that right now any estimate on time in Alabama or cost ?
  11. Hey! I just recently bought a 1997 vfr 750 and its my first bike. Honestly, I laid her down not moving( Still angry about it) on its right side(Exhaust Side) but a leak started happening on the left side and gas was coming out, once the bike was upright it stopped but will no longer start. Theres two tubes on the bottom left like near the mid stand and it looks like its coming from one of those I was thinking maybe my gas line is cut or disconnected? When it was was on its side it wasn't like rushing out jus bubbling a lot and coming out. Any help/advice/knowledge would be great as I don't have a ton yet! I just want to be able to ride her again! Thank you!!!
