  1. Approximately how long did it take to get the old one out and the new one back in?
  2. How did you change the low beam bulb and how difficult was it to do?
  3. I've had better luck than that. I had tried some Piaa's in the past with less luck, but the Sylvania has work fairly well. That being said I hoping someone can suggest a led which would take care of the duration problem.
  4. I am interested in a plug and play change for my VFR. I have Sylvania Silverstars on my FJR and was considering changing either to an led bulb or another sylvania on my low beam simply for a bit more recognition from other motorist with the whiter light it provides. Is there a fairly priced plug and play led bulb that works well or should I just install a sylvania? Also, how difficult or is it even possible to reach up and simply change this lowbeam bulb out without fairing removal etc. and much verbal expression? It appears tight in there. The sylvanias are a better bulb than the stock one on my FJR visibilty wise, but you give up some lifespan on the bulb itself. I thought I could correct that problem with an led if it would perform as well because of their superior lifespan. My only experience with a led is the ones my buddy installed on a goldwing and he wasn't pleased with their range.
  5. Now that the servo was removed with my redone exhaust, it allowed a space for a larger more effective horn, so I mounted a fiamm freeway with a homemade bracket in the servo space. One thing leads to another.
  6. Finally figured out what kind of slip-on I wanted for my bike and ended up with a M2 black series in polished aluminum from Two Brothers. Wasn't my first choice, but found what I believed was a really good deal at MS. Must say I am much more pleased than I really expected, after watching every possible review I could find with Two Brothers and slipons in general. Noise level was too much for me without a suppressor, but I went ahead and ordered a P1-x suppressor at the same time so I was able to promptly install it after a brief testing faze without it With the P1x installed the tone is perfect. Tone is throaty, but not offensive in the least. Above 40 mph I really don't notice it when cruising and only a little when accelerating and the polished aluminum really looks good against my black vfr.
  7. I have been searching for different aftermarket exhaust and really like the Dam, but it seems to be a pain to obtain one and as for my second choice which is the Two Brothers M2 carbon. My question is how do to determine the difference in length. I see some that are much longer than the others in photos with a different angle. I would want the shortest version. Some are called black series and those look longer in the photo but is that really what stands for the longer slipon size?
  8. Just how would someone eliminate an accidental code anyway? Disconnect battery for several minutes maybe?
  9. Thanks for explaination. That makes sense that the servo operating won't generate the code and disconnecting the servo wiring would. I'll give that a try, at least until I eventually replace the slip-on itself.
  10. That was one my primary concerns was an unwanted warning light. Someone had mentioned it on one of these forums and I did not want to cause more trouble than it was worth. Also, I haven't checked, but wouldn't the exhaust flapper be opened when bike is off and close upon startup until rpms reach 5000 when it would then open again?
  11. Although beauty is in the eye of beholder I do see the beauty in its lines. It is a striking motorcycle which separates itself from virtually all sport touring machines. In my opinion Honda missed the initial target price by several thousand dollars and further compounded the problem by not including the bags as a standard feature like Yamaha, Kawasaki and BMW. Alone with some minor tweeking it is a fine machine capable of several different duties which is really a great thing to be.
  12. Just got my used 2013 and heard about recall. Called dealership and they ordered part which took a week. Scheduled appt. for Sat. morning and they had me in and out in only about 2 hours which was great. My question was why hadn't it been done previously. Bike had been at honda dealership for sale for around 6 months. Salesman said it was simply a overlook that they should of caught.
  13. It is a 2013 and I installed a bazzaz zbomb as soon as I got it after doing some research here and there. So my thought was to buy the servobuddy and remove the servomotor and cable and purchase a slip on. To be honest I haven't really looked into the reflash yet, but I will. I do see that veefour has located the servobuddy I was talking about on ebay. thanks
  14. I had read somewhere that the servobuddy for the cbr1000 would also work on the vfr 1200.
  15. Hey, new to forum and recently purchased a 2013 vfr 1200. I am thinking ahead to if/when I change to another exhaust. In order to do this correctly, should I go ahead and purchase a servo buddy to replace servo motor and cable? Will this eliminate any worry of throwing a code and make for a smooth change over? I have read some posts which appear a bit iffy on whether or not doing the flapper mod and disconnecting cable will satisfy computer and not throw a code. Thanks
