I do have one Subaru with over 200k on it. I love that car!

My car is a 2003 Honda Element, which I bought new 19 years ago. This past winter at about 159,000 miles all the gauges went dark, couldn't drive it at night. My shop found a used instrument cluster, which fixed the problem.

But I got the donor car's odometer also! Now it only has 133,000 miles. I'm kinda pissed.

edit: I like this photo because it's my 2003 Honda towing my 2003 Honda.

Same, seems to be the worst of both worlds.

Actually it's worse than the worst of both worlds because, as VFRD member BrianF mentioned to me a few years ago, it's a three-track! You can't avoid that pothole, speed bump, or dead skunk in the middle of the road.

(that being said, someday when I can't balance any more and dementia is setting in I will probably purchase a CanAm)

Re-installed the charging system and added some lights for some bike nights.

Captain, I'm drooling. The wheels, the case/coolant hose guards, the exhaust, clip-ons, and whatever you did to the clocks, just beautiful. What would you charge me to rent it for a month?  😎

Yeah, you don't want to use auto-tune with factory O2-sensor in load-zones higher than 80% due to limited 14.7:1 resolution. You'll need richer mixtures in those zones and max-power is generated at ~13.5:1. Not to mention that +/- variations will be much tighter with wideband.

Well, duh, I thought everyone knew that.

    😉

Seriously, thanks Danno, your expertise is so appreciated. There are so many skilled and knowledgeable VFRD members, pretty awesome.

    Going, going.....

The sticker bonanza partly the result of the (chinesium) panels starting life in the oem SP2 livery....

And the star spangled banner??  Despite belief in some quarters,  I *do* like the USA...

I do love the Castrol livery--it looks great, and also it reminds me of the great Ducati/RC-51 battles in WSBK 20 years ago. And the two bikes in my garage!

There's only a few race-rep paint schemes that, to my eye, look good. Took me awhile, but I've come round on the Castrol graphics of your SP-2. And I always enjoy reading about your adventures aboard it.

But Dutchy's getting close to the edge, one more sticker and that RC is a goner.

We'll have to ask Colin Edwards for an expert opinion!

  7. New rubber!                           (disclaimer: this is not a VFR--but close!)

Replaced the aging Pirelli Angel GT's with fresh Michelin Power 5's. Why are new tires so exciting?

Aside from a 1000 mile 36-hour Sierra trip with some VFRD hooligans, I realized the RC-51's miles have all been local, dry, and track day, so I went for sportier rubber. Also, the rear is a 190/55, which I loved on my 7th gen, vs. the 190/50 Pirelli.

First ride today, photos below. Took it easy, but felt great--easier roll-in and better bump compliance. Don't know about edge grip yet.

And last but certainly not least, I also installed the performance part I've been searching for, finally found exactly the right one, bottom photo.

Yes its a Kendon. I bought it in 2014 and have towed bikes all up and down the west coast. Best investment I've made in motorcycle stuff.

Thought so, looked familiar. I agree, a great piece of equipment, makes it easy for one human to easily load and transport a bike. And it stands up on casters, using only maybe 7 or 8 sf of valuable garage space.

Aside from the suspension bits from Jamie Daugherty, what else is out there?  Obiously if money were no object I could go Ohlins but I hear Racetech springs are an option as well?  While I'm already leaning in Jamie's direction I also want to do my due diligence and make sure I'm making a good investment.

As I understand it you purchased a VFR. A week later you again purchased a VFR. You're committed. Just make sure that suspension fits your weight and riding style. Jamie or Ohlins, can't go wrong.

Loris and Randy, very cool, both looking good. I have to figure out how to get to Assen in the next few years. As great as Mugello?
